Setting a realistic weight loss
plan may differ from what you might have in mind if you decided to lose weight. Every single person is different and unique somehow, therefore when setting your goals you need to focus on yourself.
It's not a good idea to set goals based on other people successes, simply because you might not get the results desired or you will want to go much further and damage yourself. You need to set a goal in terms of who you are and what suits you. It might be also a good idea to see a physician for a weight loss goal.
Basically, you should keep in mind what your doctor said or see your height and recommended weight and stick to that. As far as the results go, it depends on what diet you follow, what exercises you do, what you eat and how much you eat.
You might notice that fast weight loss occurs at the beginning of your weight loss program and after a while it will slow down. It get much harder at the end, when our body knows we're close to our ideal weight and it just won't
let us go below or reach that point.
Keep in mind how much overweight you are and start gradually if there is a large amount of weight to be lost. Set small goals, not only to keep you in good health, but not to become depressed if you do not succeed. Small steps are recommended not to torture your body through the process.
Your goals should be realistic. If you want to go back to what you looked like during high school, it's unlikely that you will get there; or at least not very easy... After a certain age, you should be realistic about the fact that things are different now, you most likely aren't as active
as you used to be during high school and our bodies have changed a bit during all this time.
People usually fail at losing weight because their goal was not realistic. They may even be where they should be, but they did not make a reasonable judgment about the process and about the results. Also, during the process you might see that you gained back a little weight. This is perfectly normal. Our bodies can't just drop weight and you should not be discouraged by this. You'll get there in time if you think positive and if you're realistic.
